API Intelligence Platform

The operating system for API intelligence.

Problem

Inside any platform org, knowledge of APIs, SDKs, widgets, plugins, and microservices is fragmented across teams, wikis, and tribal memory. Discovery is hard. Documentation drifts. Governance happens after the fact.

Insight

As a Platform PM, I kept being asked the same questions: which API does X, who owns it, what depends on it, is it deprecated. Every answer required a five-minute search through three systems. The real product was the answer — not the API catalog.

Product

API Intelligence Platform is an AI-powered API governance and discovery layer. It indexes your API estate, surfaces ownership and dependencies, flags governance issues, and answers natural-language questions about your platform.

Key Features

  • Unified API catalog across services, SDKs, widgets, and integrations.
  • Ownership, lifecycle, and deprecation metadata as first-class fields.
  • Dependency graph with consumer-side visibility.
  • Natural-language search and Q&A grounded in your actual estate.
  • Governance signals — breaking changes, missing docs, stale endpoints.

Product Journey

  • Started as an internal spreadsheet of APIs and their owners.
  • Evolved into a catalog with metadata, then into a graph with consumers.
  • Added an AI layer to make the graph queryable in plain language.

Challenges

  • Keeping the catalog fresh without becoming a documentation tax on engineers.
  • Designing governance signals that nudge rather than nag.

Lessons Learned

  • Platform governance only sticks if it makes engineers' lives easier, not harder.
  • A great catalog is a side effect of a great discovery experience.

Future Vision

Every platform org runs on a living, queryable map of its API estate — the way ops orgs run on observability today.
